Anton Lazzaro was a GOP strategist and campaign manager in Minnesota. He founded Big Tent Republicans PAC. He was also an occasional FOX News guest. In 2021, he was indicted on five counts of sex trafficking of a minor, one count of attempting to do so, and three counts of obstruction of justice.
He is a white supremacist who frequented sites like Stormfront where he became radicalized. He decided to start the Second American Revolution and built some pipe bombs for a planned terrorist attack. For that he was sentenced in 2018 to five years in prison, but he was released in 2020. He applied for compassionate release so he could go home and help his wife who had COVID and take care of the children.
So he went home. A bombmaking white supremacist who wanted to overthrow the government was let out to help his wife. He stabbed her twenty-seven times. He led authorities on a three week manhunt before being captured. While waiting for his trial, he attacked two corrections officers and attempting to escape.
Jack Tomczak has a 24-year history in Republican organizing and communications. With a stint as a conservative radio host and podcaster, he was for a time the communications director for the Minnesota Republican Party. That was when his ex-wife requested a restraining order two years after their divorce, alleging he was harassing and stalking her. TRO were granted in August and December of 2020. He now works for American Citizen Voting in Missouri. This is not a voting rights organization. They are trying to pass laws prohibiting communities from allowing non-citizens to vote in local elections.
Rod Hamilton is a state representative in Minnesota. He is retiring this year. In 2018, he was accused by a young woman of sexual misconduct, unwanted and nonconsensual touching and kissing. He had been much admired by her because of his advocacy for survivors of sexual assault. She is a sexual assault advocate. When there was a snowstorm that made it impossible for her to drive the more than 200 miles home, he offered to let her stay at his apartment and there he kissed her and touched her even though she had previously told him as a rape survivor that she did not like to be touched. She felt trapped and assaulted, though she makes clear that the misconduct was limited to touching and kissing.
Jason Lewis had a conservative radio show before he ran for Congress. He served one term and lost by 5 points. Then, he ran for Senate, was backed by Trump, and lost by 5 points. In 2011 on his radio show, he mocked the women who recounted how Herman Cain had allegedly sexual harassed them. He even mocked the idea that sexual harassment could be traumatizing. He put on a fake voice and made fun of them. It’s probably why Trump endorsed him.
Rory A. Koch was a Republican staffer in the Minnesota House of Representatives. In 2010, he was running for Ramsey County Board when he was arrested and charged with twelve counts of possessing child pornography. He received 25% of the vote. The child-porn investigation was not public knowledge.
The Minnesota Crimes Against Children Task Force were tipped off that someone with the screen name Chadwhite73 was likely disseminating child exploitation materials. AOL identified the account as belonging to Rory Koch and his home was searched. He acknowledged receiving it but claimed he could not delete it. There were 68 images on his computer.
Koch was convicted and sentenced to five years.
Brad Gerten was a Republican candidate for the Minnesota state House when he was arrested for trying to strangle his step-son. A fight over pizza! He was booked for domestic assault and strangulation.
Tony Cornish represented a district in SW Minnesota in the state House of Representatives and was a big advocate for expansive gun rights. He resigned when several people came forward with sexual harassment and misconduct allegations including pushing one lobbyist against a wall and trying to kiss her. His resignation was part of a deal with the lobbyist to avoid being sued.
Jeffrey Kyle Randall was the Republican mayor of Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was sentenced to 275 days in prison, less than a year, for molesting two boys aged ten and twelve over the course of six years. West Central Tribune: Former Clarkfield Mayor sentenced to 275 days
