742: Jeffrey Armstrong

Jeffrey Armstrong is a former mayor of Rockford, Ohio. He’s also served on the village council and the school board. He was a member of the County Republican Central Committee, as well. On Facebook, he engaged in Direct Message conversations with a person he believed was, like him, interested in sexual relations with underage girls, but the person he thought was a fellow pedophile was actually and FBI agent. The ruse continued for 10 days with exchange of child sexual abuse material. Armstrong declared he knew two girls, ages 5 and 6, whom he was planning to engage in sexual activity. He also bragged about previous sexual activity with minors.
741: Gregory Nies

Gregory Nies was on the town council and three-time mayoral candidate. He was well-liked and active in the community. However, he was also preying on children. In 2009, a girl went to the police and told them she had been sent inappropriate messages from someone posing as an 18-year-old woman. The police investigated, found the IP traced back to Nies. A search warrant revealed he had been communicating with several minor girls, posing as a young girl himself to persuade them to send him nude photos. His computer also had child sexual abuse material. They also discovered he was sexually abusing a young girl.
740: Paul Reeves

Paul Reeves was the mayor of Ashland, Kentucky. He resigned after he was charged with receiving two videos that contained child sexual abuse material. He ordered the videos from an undercover company run by postal inspectors. When they entered his home, they caught him watching a CSAM video. They began investigating Reeves when his credit card information was found on a server. He was sentenced to 42 months in prison.
739: Ed Bayne

Ed Bayne was the mayor of Seven Fields, Pennsylvania, since 2006 until he was arrested for possession child sexual abuse material. Police seized all the computers at his home and found 24 items of child sexual abuse material including a video with a 9-year-old girl. They were alerted to someone downloading CSAM and traced it…
738: Jack Shay

Jack Shay was once the mayor of Ketchikan and the Ketchikan borough. He served on the school board and was even “citizen of the year.” He dropped off a computer for repair and child sexual abuse images were found. Employees are required to report this. The police were notified and he was arrested and charged with 91 counts of possession of child sexual abuse materia. He agreed to plead guilty to 7 counts of possession of CSAM and was sentenced to 35 years with 18 suspended. As he was 81 when he was sentenced in 2012, that is effectively a life sentence.
737: Mike Stoecklin

Mike Stoecklin was the mayor of Saunemin for two terms ending in 2008. In 2010, he was under consideration for an appointment to a state Senate seat. He was also a grade school coach at Saunemin Grade School. He created child sex abuse material, taking pictures of himself with one of his students. He also sexually abused the student. Authorities said he filmed himself posed in a sexual manner while engaged in a sexual act between him and a child under the age of 18.
736: Cary Rhodes

Cary Rhodes was the mayor of Taylorsville, Georgia. He was also the chief financial officer and secretary of the Taylorsville Baptist Church. He also managed to get caught in an FBI undercover child sex sting when he replied to a Craigslist ad. He was charged with attempted aggravated child molestation and violating the Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Act. He agreed to a plea deal that resulted in two years in prison and ten years probation, considerably less time than most people in that situation get.
