Samuel B. Kent was a federal district judge appointed by George H. W. Bush. He was a powerful man at the top of the ladder in Galveston, TX. He abused that power by sexual assaulting the women who worked for the district court. When one woman came forward, he was given a short suspension, a coverup by the judges he worked with. However, her complaint triggered an FBI investigation that led to his indictment and eventual conviction and prison sentence. He was also impeached, taking away his salary and pension. He was the first district judge to be indicted for sexual assault.
