You have probably heard of this creep by now, as The Independent explains, a want-to-be “family man” was actually a vicious sexual predator killer.
Prosecutors said Rex Heuermann was responsible for the deaths of seven women: Melissa Barthelemy, 24, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, Amber Lynn Costello, 27, Megan Waterman, 22, Sandra Costilla, 28, Jessica Taylor, 20, and Valerie Mack, 24. He initially denied them all.
Heuermann returned to court April 8, 2026, where he switched his plea from not guilty to guilty. He also admitted to an eighth homicide – the 1996 killing of Karen Vergata, a Manhattan mother of two whose remains were found west of Gilgo Beach and on Fire Island, more than a decade apart.
Police reported finding and seizing “torture-related pornography,” including violent “torture porn” and allegations involving “child pornography,” on electronic devices during searches of Rex Heuermann’s home.

Does the “family man” disguised as a sex monster sound familiar to you?
The Independent also reports New York City Department of Buildings records reveal Rex Heuermann’s firm was hired by a third party for a plumbing job at the Trump Building in 2018.
The toxic culture of treating women as 2nd rate citizens and sex objects by the Republican elite within Heuermann’s circles could have influenced his behavior.

No empathy, no fear, no remorse. They revel in their enjoyment of the suffering of their victims. They exert extreme coercive control over their targets.
They exhibit grandiose self-interest and are masters of gaslighting, manipulation, deception and sadistic mental and physical torture.
Human Predators specifically target those people who are vulnerable, young, innocent, kind and loving.
They treat their victims as prey.
Their brains do not function like the brain of a normal human.
