COLORADO- Child Sex Assault
We are learning from the Fort Collins Coloradoan and Denver7 news that on May 14, 2026, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office conducted an operation targeting child predators. Investigators posed as minors selling sexual acts on local websites and forums. Several dozen people responded to the listings, including Hunter Rivera, who arrived at an agreed-upon location to buy sex. Rivera was greeted by deputies who arrested and booked Rivera into the Larimer County Jail.

Rivera, the 24-year-old chairman of the Weld County Republican Party. The Weld County Republican Party said that it has accepted Rivera’s resignation as county chair, effective immediately.
A search for “Hunter Rivera” on the Weld County GOP site oddly returned a post about Independence Day.
Colorado House and Senate Republicans released a statement, denouncing Rivera and calling the charges “sickening.”
“These charges are sickening, horrifying, and beyond reprehensible. There is no defense for anyone who preys on children, no excuses, and no place for that anywhere near public life or our party,” the statement read.
