Jay Quam was a Hennepin County judge appointed by Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty in 2006. He retired in March, 2025, one month before he was reprimanded by The Minnesota Board on Judicial Standards for a pattern of sexual harassment that included an inappropriate relationship with his clerk and his staff hearing explicit sounds of sexual activity from his office.

Paul Zunker was the Carver County GOP Chair in Minnesota. In 2011, he pleaded guilty to sexually molesting a child in his estimation at least once a week. The victim said that she would say “knock it off” and he would just laugh and continue to touch her. She was less than 16 years old. While the penalty could have been as high as twenty-five years, Zunker was sentenced to six months and fifteen years probation.

Sean Patrick Masopust was a youth pastor at Northridge Church, an Evangelical church in Owatanna, Minnesota where his father-in-law was pastor. He pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. He was 33 and she was 17, making any romantic or sexual relationship, especially under his authority as youth pastor, a criminal act.

Jim Rostberg was a Minnesota state representative. In 2000, he was arrested and charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct. The complaint alleged repeated sexual assaults of a child, the daughter of family friends, over several years. The child was fourteen when Rostberg was arrested. When her mother confronted him, Rostberg said he felt bad about it.
