Jim Knoblach was the chair of the House Ways and Means Committee and running for certain re-election when his daughter came forward alleging he had touched her inappropriately throughout most of her life from age 9 to 21. She confided in friends, family, and mandatory reporters at her school and church over the course of ten years. There was even a police investigation in 2017 that concluded Knoblach’s actions were inappropriate but not criminal. She went to the press when she was 23. Knoblach suspended his re-election campaign after she came forward.
