956: Jerry Dale Carver

Jerry Dale Carver was the minister of education at an Austin, Texas, Baptist church. In 2006, he was arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old child. According to the arrest affidavit, he picked up a 15-year-old boy at a bus stop, began a sexual conversation, touched the boy. When the boy tried to get out of the car, he drove to a park and sexually assaulted him.

955: Ruben A. Garcia

Ruben A. Garcia was an associate pastor at Betania Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. He was arrested in 2017 for sexually assaulting two children. He was charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child by sexual contact. When he was arrested for one investigation, they discovered there was a warrant for his arrest for another investigation in another county into child sexual assault.

947: Benjamin Nelson

Benjamin Nelson was the pastor of a small Baptist Church in Peoria, in Hill County, Texas. He was also a student at Baylor University, a private Baptist university. He used social media to draw a thirteen-year-old girl to meet him in a parking lot where he sexually abused her. Her mother found them and pulled the girl out of the car when Nelson reversed either accidentally or purposefully trying to hit them. For that he was charged with deadly conduct.

939: Brian Stout

Brian Stout is a Republican state representative in Oregon. A woman who was active in the Columbia County Republican Party alleged that Stout aggressively pursued her sexually with her consent to kissing and touching each other. But he pushed her and tried to rape her. His wife walked in on them before he raped her.

916: Sean Patrick Masopust

Sean Patrick Masopust was a youth pastor at Northridge Church, an Evangelical church in Owatanna, Minnesota where his father-in-law was pastor. He pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. He was 33 and she was 17, making any romantic or sexual relationship, especially under his authority as youth pastor, a criminal act.

859: Diego Morales

He also won despite two fellow Republican women coming forward to allege sexual misconduct by Morales including forcible kissing. Both women went to Republican Party leadership hoping to deal with it privately to protect the party’s reputation, but the leaders did nothing which is why they went public.

856: Billy James Hargis

As president of American Christian College, he used his power to have sex with college students. Although they were the age of consent, (one was sixteen) they were not in a position to refuse the college president. His position of authority made this statutory rape.

Among the more outlandish events is the story of two students who got married. Hargis performed the ceremony. On their honeymoon, they learned Hargis had slept with both of them.

854: Elijah Schaffer

Elijah Schaffer is a podcaster who was fired by Glenn Beck’s The Blaze for sexually assaulting a co-worker. Allegedly, he groped her breasts at a film premiere. They did an internal investigation that sustained her allegation and fired him. A second woman, a former employee, sued Blaze, alleging they knew of Schaffer’s behavior but retaliated by firing her when she complained.

848: Dave Estenson

Dave Estenson was the Republican nominee for State Senate District 31 in Wisconsin, he lost in a close race. The incumbent Jeff Smith received 50.4% while Estenson received 49.5%. Republicans had hoped to gerrymander District 31 to take out Smith, but perhaps reports of Dave Estenson’s sexual misconduct while he was in law enforcement tarnished…

836: Melvin Slack

Melvin Slack was a Republican candidate for mayor of Shreveport. He dropped out of the race for a couple of days after a woman sought a restraining order, but he got back in because he thought quitting dishonored the memory of his son. He lost.
