Jerry Dale Carver was the minister of education at an Austin, Texas, Baptist church. In 2006, he was arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old child. According to the arrest affidavit, he picked up a 15-year-old boy at a bus stop, began a sexual conversation, touched the boy. When the boy tried to get out of the car, he drove to a park and sexually assaulted him.
When the police picked him up, he claimed the child was the aggressor. In a plea deal, he pled to attempted sexual assault of a minor. He was the second pastor at Great Hills Baptist Church convicted of sexual misconduct with a child.
