Scott Huse’s charges stem from events between 1990 and 1995 involving two teenage girls. With the first victim, he he was charged with one count of child enticement, four counts of sexual assault of a child younger than 13, and six counts of second degree sexual assault of a child. With the other child, he was charged with one count of second degree sexual assault.

783: John William Lovelace

Child Indecency, Child Molestation, Child Rape, Sexual Battery

John William Lovelace was the pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Ayden, North Carolina. In a joint investigation, Winterville Police four counts of 2nd degree forcible sex and three counts of sexual battery while Pitt County Sheriff’s office charged him with two counts of statutory sex offense with a child less than 15 and indecent liberties with a minor. Bail was set at $12.4 million.

741: Gregory Nies

Child Indecency, Child Molestation, Child Sexual Abuse Material, Solicitation of a Minor

Gregory Nies was on the town council and three-time mayoral candidate. He was well-liked and active in the community. However, he was also preying on children. In 2009, a girl went to the police and told them she had been sent inappropriate messages from someone posing as an 18-year-old woman. The police investigated, found the IP traced back to Nies. A search warrant revealed he had been communicating with several minor girls, posing as a young girl himself to persuade them to send him nude photos. His computer also had child sexual abuse material. They also discovered he was sexually abusing a young girl.

730: Alejandro Carmona-Fonseca

Child Indecency, Solicitation of a Minor

Alejandro Carmona-Fonseca was a deputy on the Jacksonville Sheriff’s office. A teen boy met Carmona at a gym and connected with him on Snapchat in the expectation that Carmona would give him workout advice, which he initially did. He began requesting photos of the teen without his shirt and then he began sending explicit pictures of himself.

726: Alan Moran

Child Indecency, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Misconduct

Alan Moran was serving his second term as a city councilman in Diamondhead, Mississippi, when he was appointed mayor pro tempore in July 2021. He seemed to following his father’s career. His father is State Senate Phillip Moran.

Then he was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors, simple assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. This seems inadequate to the circumstances. Even Moran remarked at the time, “That’s it?”

712: Rodney Burl Nichols

Child Indecency, Child Molestation

Rodney Burl Nichols was the mayor of Valley Mills, Texas. In 2005 while he was on the city council, he was charged with child molestation, but the grand jury declined to indict. He was reappointed to the council and then served as mayor. In 2018, he was indicted for continuous sexual abuse of a child when two girls came forward, ages 11 and 13, and claimed he had touched them inappropriately.

711: Jeremy Filbert

Jeremy Filbert was the mayor of Mitchellville, Iowa. In 2014, he ran for Iowa State Senate but lost the Republican primary. In April, 2015, he resigned as mayor and moved to Kansas City, Kansas, to take a job where he was soon arrested rape and aggravated sodomy of a child under thirteen, his half-sister.

709: Donald Marceau McLeod

Child Indecency, Solicitation of a Minor

Donald Marceau McLeod was the Mayor of Severance, Colorado. He resigned after an anonymous tip was called in reporting that a child was dragged into a white van and may have been taken hostage. The van was owned by McLeod. The child was someone he met on Grindr who initially said he was 19, but he confessed he was just 17, a minor. He was arrested and charged with patronizing a prostituted child. He pleaded guilty to promoting obscenity to a child and got three years probation and must register as a sex offender.

708: Gary Clark

Child Indecency, Child Molestation, Child Rape

Gary Clark is the former Mayor of Zillah, Washington and an officer of the Yakima County Republicans. He was the mayor for a decade in the 80s into the 90s and then again from 2004 to 2017. He was arrested in March, 2021 and charged with one count of rape of a child and indecent exposure. His victim was 4 years old. There is a witness to the sex act and video evidence of him exposing himself to the child.
