William C. Robinson was a pastor working for Chi Alpha Campus Ministries in Corpus Christi. A young girl reported that he had continuously sexually abused her for five years, beginning when she was nine. The police said he wanted to confess to inappropriate touching. He is out on bond and has a hearing in June, 2023.
Conner ‘Jesse’ Penny was the youth pastor at Inspiration Church in Mesquite, Texas. Before that he worked as an aide in after-school program run by the Mesquite school district and as an aide at an elementary school. He has been accused by four children of continuous sexual abuse. They range in age from six to seventeen, though the abuse was when she was younger.
Jonathan Ryan Ensey was music director and worship leader at Living Way Church where his father was pastor. He pursued a sexual relationship with a child he met when she was nine. As her pastoral leader, he persuaded her that what he was doing was perfectly fine. So fine that she mentioned to her father that she was in a relationship with him. The father found thousands of texts from him to his daughter including a photo Ensey took from the pulpit referencing fellatio that he sent to a child.
Sean Patrick Masopust was a youth pastor at Northridge Church, an Evangelical church in Owatanna, Minnesota where his father-in-law was pastor. He pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. He was 33 and she was 17, making any romantic or sexual relationship, especially under his authority as youth pastor, a criminal act.
Thomas James Brackett was a youth pastor at Tabernacle Christian Church in Baltimore County, Maryland, back in the Eighties. That is when he is alleged to have sexually abused two minors in his pastoral care. They were eight and ten at the time. He was twenty-one or twenty-two.
Ryan Scott Walsh was a youth pastor at Gulf Breeze Methodist Church in Florida. Parents of a 13-year-old girl found inappropriate texts on her phone. They went to the church pastor who chose to handle it internally at first, until the church learned Walsh had also touched the child. Then the church went to the police.
David Ray Barker is a white nationalist and affiliated with the Texas Patriot Network, a violent, radical group. In 2001, he was convicted in two separate cases of indecency with a child by contact. The victim was 9 years old. Because of that he was required to register as a violent sex offender for life. He failed to do so and got in trouble again. He appealed, arguing that the sex offender law was unconstitutional, but his appeal was denied.
Jeffery Williams was a Salvation Army youth pastor in Fountain, Colorado. He was arrested in October, 2022, for sending sexually explicit inappropriate material to a minor.
Kenneth Daniel was the pastor of First Baptist Church in Chalkville, Alabama. After the Southern Baptist Convention released the SBC Sexual Abuse Task Force report in May 2022, he wrote, “I have served on staff in churches within the SBC over 38 years. I agree … this is tragic to victims and heartbreaking. Cases needed to be investigated. My question is about … releasing more information than necessary. … There is sexual misconduct in every profession, even churches. How do churches benefit from over exposure of poor leadership? Churches are struggling to keep doors open. How are we to evangelize and bring people to Christ?”
Joshua Schopp was a candidate for the Central Community School Board. He was arrested in August 2022, after exchanging messages with an underage girl on social media. She told him she was 17 at first, but when the conversation turned sexual, she informed him she was only 15. It was after that he sent her a picture and video of his genitalia. He asked her to send him nude pictures and to meet with him for sex. He was charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and with solicitation of a minor.
