Ryan Utterback is an anti-gay activist and advocate for banning books. He was featured on rightwing media until he was arrested for distributing pornography to a minor and child molestation. He was also charged with domestic assault. Three different incidents with children are described in the police probable cause statement.
John Diehl was Speaker of the House in the Missouri state legislature. He resigned in 2015 after it was revealed he had an intimate relationship with a 19-year-old college student serving as an intern at the state Capitol. He was 49 at the time and a sanctimonious advocate of the “sanctity of marriage” and opponent of gay marriage.
David Smock has been accused of sexually assaulting boys and covering up the physical abuse of students by other staff members. He was a fugitive for a while before being arrested in Arkansas. He has been charged in two separate counties for thirteen felonies including sexual assaulting minor boys.
Stephanie Householder and her husband, Boyd, operated the Circle of Hope Girls Ranch, ostensibly a “Christian boarding school” for unruly girls in Missouri. Missouri is infamous for poorly regulated Christian boarding schools that continue to operate despite authorities knowing that abuse and neglect are rampant.
Circle of Hope was bad enough for authorities to step in after even the Householder’s children affirmed the complaints of former students. Boyd Householder was arrested and charged with 79 felonies, including child molestation, sodomy, sexual contact with a student and neglect of a child. Stephanie Householder was indicted with 22 felonies including child abuse, neglect, and endangerment. This is for incidents over the three years from 2017 to 2020, though Circle of Hope operated much longer.
Rocky Miller was a Republican representative in the Missouri House. An independent investigation commissioned by the House Ethics Committee found that he created a false rumor implicating another representative, accusing him of having an affair with a legislative employee. They also determined that his actions did not qualify as sexual harassment under federal or state law, but did seem to violate the House’s own sexual harassment policy.
Chad Perkins is a radio host and a Republican representative in the Missouri state legislature. He is a former police officer. It is alleged that while a police officer, he had sex with a drunk nineteen-year-old teenager in his custody. He claims it was consensual and bringing it up is political maneuvering.
There is no such thing as consent when a person is in custody of the police. To add to the inability to consent is the fact she was drunk. This is rape.
Jean Evans was the president of the Missouri Republican Party when it refused to advocate for a different candidate after Rick Roeber was revealed to be a child molester. The Missouri Republican Party deserves special condemnation for continuing to support the re-election of Rick Roeber despite his children coming forward and revealing how he abused and molested them through their childhood, allegations they made twenty years earlier as well. The party decided to support Roeber, this incestuous child rapist, rather than risk electing a Democrat. They pledged to investigate him if he was elected rather than asking people to vote for someone else.
Rick Roeber was a Republican representative for Missouri state House District 34. when his children came forward to tell people about his physical and sexual abuse of them during their childhood. This was a not a new allegation. They swore this in an affidavit more than twenty years earlier.
