Jeff Taylor was a youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Stafford. A nineteen-year-old girl admitted to her employer that she had been sexually abused by Taylor since she was eleven. Her employer called the police, reporting Taylor’s abuse. They investigated and determined that the allegations were credible. They arrested Taylor who said he did it out of love.

882: Steve Wukmer

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Steve Wukmer was on the staff at Agape Christian Boarding School, infamous for allegations of abuse, neglect, and trafficking. He was also a children’s minister in Ohio.

He was arrested in November 2022 on 215 charges related to child sex abuse material. Bail was set at $12.9 million.

Organizational Cover-Up

Eric Schmitt is Missouri’s junior Senator, previously he was the Missouri Attorney General. He was highly criticized for his lack of action in addressing violence and abuse at Christian boarding schools in Missouri. As Attorney General he was heavily criticized for his inaction toward the ongoing abuses at Christian boarding schools in Missouri. Agape is the most famous one and DHS records show that he was repeatedly informed that abuse and enslavement was happening at Agape.

825: Julio Sandoval

Trafficking

Julio Sandoval is the former dean of Agape Boarding School, a place that claimed to provide guidance and education to unruly boys by providing structure and discipline. Agape closed down in January, long after it should have been closed. Sandoval has been charged with transporting a child against his will from California to Missouri. While he was dean, children were abused and psychologically tortured according to former students. Even predators who sexually abused children were kept on staff.

Pete Newman was a Camp Director at Camp Kanakuk, a Christian children’s camp in Branson, Missouri. Over the years, he abused his position to sexually abuse dozens of boys, some as young as nine. He pleaded guilty to sexually abusing six boys, but admitted to abusing at lead 13 more. The prosecutor estimated the actual number could be in the hundreds.
