Carter Clinton Ballman was a Republican legislative aide in Missouri. He worked several years for Republican Rep. Mark Matthiesen. He was fired shortly after he was arrested in an undercover sting with a police officer pretending to be a 14-year-old girl. He was charged with soliciting a minor and attempted receipt of child sexual abuse material.
He reached a plea deal and was sentenced to 5 years in prison and 5 year probation after his release.
