Charles Herbster is the owner of the multi-level marketing (MLM) company Conklin that manufactures roofing materials and all sorts of home and health products. (Full Disclosure: My brother-in-law was a Conklin dealer for 20 years or more.) He’s been accused by nine women of sexual battery/groping.
He ran for the Republican nomination for governor in 2022 and had Trump’s endorsement. His main issue was attacking Critical Race Theory. He lost the nomination. He came in second, even though nine women came forward to allege he assaulted them.
He was just one of the many candidates who were endorsed by Trump with allegations of sexual misconduct. Eight women, including a Republican state senator named Julie Siana came forward alleging they had been groped by Herbster. Later another woman came forward alleging he had also groped her at the same event where Siana claimed he had groped her. He sued Siana, claiming defamation, so she countersued for sexual battery. After the election they both dropped their suits.
While nine women came forward, his primary loss will have to remain the only accountability.
He was among the people planning January 6th. He was at the meeting at Trump International with Trump’s sons, Tommy Tuberville, Michael Flynn, Peter Navarro, Corey Lewandowski, David Bossie, Rudy Giuliani, Adam Piper, Daniel Back, and Mike Lindell. They discussed how to pressure members of Congress to object to the Electoral College results. He went to Trump’s rally on January 6th and went back to the White House with Trump. After the insurrection began, he flew to Florida with Donald Trump, Jr. and Kim Guilfoyle.
