1307: Bill Lunn

Bill Lunn was the Emmy=winning news director at WTBS in Shrevesport, Louisiana. He has resigned after local police initiated an investigation into him for soliciting a minor. Some young men in Shreveport created a fake online profile of a 16-year-old girl and after exchanging text with Lunn, arranged a meeting for sex.

Lunn showed up and they confronted him. He called the police and accused them of assault and attempted car theft. As a white adult versus Black twenty-year-old, he was certain he would be believed. However, when police arrived, they quickly found that he was not telling the truth. The young men explained they had been catfishing to identify child predators.

The young men have been passionate about identifying child predators since a friend of their disappeared several years ago.

Lunn resigned from KTBS and the Shreveport police are investigating. No arrests have been made.

Lunn is either not registered to vote or he has requested it not be disclosed. However, his social media, before he deleted his account, included shared tweets from Trump and from conservative Christians.
