Charlie Pierce is the former mayor of Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula Borough and a Republican candidate for governor in the general election. His former Executive Assistant has sued him and the KPB, claiming she was subject to constant unwanted touching, sexual remarks, and advances. According to the suit, the KPB provided no way for her to report the harassment without reprisal.
Pierce resigned as mayor claiming he wanted to focus on his gubernatorial campaign, but the KPB said he had been asked to resign after they investigated and found the allegations credible. They settled with her and paid his share as well. It was the third settlement they paid in Pierce’s five years as mayor.
Since losing the race for governor, Pierce has moved to Kansas. He got 4.5% of the vote.
