David G. Landfair was the Mayor of Gulf Breeze, Florida. Before that he was on the City Council for eight years. In 2019, an adult woman went back to her high school and told the Principal that a teacher whom she knew from high school was sending her messages on Seeking Arrangements, a website that specializes in older men finding younger women, a sugar daddy/sugar baby site. They began an investigation and found he was doing this on school time which resulted in discipline. They said he no longer worked there.
This would still be consenting adults and none of our business except he made a point of seeking former students which gives this an ick factor of eight or nine. In his excuse-making in the media, he said he and his wife looked for former students on the site in order to know they needed money and to offer them help.
Except other women came forward and provided screenshots showing he offered them money for sex. He also bragged about another former student being a sex addict with a winky emoji. He resigned as mayor.
Normally I don’t include “paying for sex” stories because both parties are adult. The issue is seeking out former students.
