Paul Travis Williams was the Director of a 4-H camp and chair of the Lumpkin Co. GOP when he was arrested for possession of child exploitation materials. The County Sheriff received a tip from the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and searched his house. There they found child pornography, including one of the images from the tip. They collected 20 storage devices.
They learned the picture was uploaded from his work computer and got a warrant for his workplace and found even more child pornography. There is no evidence the pictures were taken at the 4-H Camp. In all, he was charged with 50 counts of sexual exploitation of children.
The trial has been repeatedly postponed and is now awaiting the defendant’s eye surgery in September.
