1536: Chris Henderson

Familial Abuse & Violence

Chris Henderson was a City Councilman in Kennesaw, Georgia. In March, 2021, he was arrested for domestic violence and assault after a drunken, violent outburst. There were five people in his home, three guests and Henderson and his wife. He got into an argument and was attacking his wife. A man intervened and a fight broke out.

1494: JaQuon Stembridge

Solicitation of a Minor

JaQuon Stembridge was recently elected Assistant Secretary of the Georgia Republican Party. He was the youngest person ever elected to a Georgia GOP leadership post. He ran on expanding outreach to young voters.

He resigned after a video began circulating that showed him trying to solicit sex and meet up with a fourteen-year-old boy.

1421: Johnny Hunt

Sexual Assault

Johnny Hunt was the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia for thirty-three years. During that time, he served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention. After retiring from his church, he served as a Senior Vice President at the North American Mission Board, an arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, until his resignation after he was named in an investigation of sexual abuse in the Southern Baptist churches.

1309: Russell Tusing

Child Molestation, Incest, Sexual Battery

Russell Jon Tusing II was the pastor at extremely conservative Sovereign Grace Church of LaGrange in Troup County, Georgia. Like many extreme conservatives, he reflexively calls people who disagree with him unchristian and communist. When Aaron Bushnell, the Air Force serviceman set himself on fire in protest of Israel-Hamas war, he called him a godless communist. He was suspended in March 2024, after his arrest for molesting a 13-year-old girl. His daughter.

1301: Christopher Codding

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Molestation, Child Rape, Grooming

Christopher Matthew Codding, a youth pastor in Georgia was charged with child molestation in July, 2021. He had been about to adopt two young boys when a young man who was abused by Codding in his childhood came forward. Ironically, Codding taught child abuse prevention and youth protection classes at the church.

1169: Austin Perkins

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Molestation, Child Rape, Child Sexual Abuse Material, Grooming

Austin Perkins was a youth pastor at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Floyd County, Georgia. In 2022, during a child sexual abuse material investigation, seven men were arrested. Perkins was one of those arrested.

He had a child with no home or family in his care whom he was abusing and filming to create Child Sexual Abuse Material. The child was rescued from this abuser.

1158: Kelly Garret Ivey

Trafficking

Kelly Garret Ivey was a youth group leader at Rock Springs Church. On an underground web site called Slave Bay, he offered to sell information, location, and movements of a young girl from church in order for her to be kidnapped and trafficked. Shockingly, the church failed to notify its congregants who found out about this in the paper.
