William (Bill) Carns was the former Chair of the Nye County Republican Party. He was arrested on January 31, 2026. He was charged with He faces creating or distributing child sexual abuse material and using the internet to control explicit images of someone under the age of 16. In addition, he had three gun charges, including possessing a sawed-off shotgun, possession of a dangerous weapon, and having a firearm without a serial number.

1494: JaQuon Stembridge

Solicitation of a Minor

JaQuon Stembridge was recently elected Assistant Secretary of the Georgia Republican Party. He was the youngest person ever elected to a Georgia GOP leadership post. He ran on expanding outreach to young voters.

He resigned after a video began circulating that showed him trying to solicit sex and meet up with a fourteen-year-old boy.

1453: Ron Weinberg

Ron Weinberg is a state representative in Colorado. He was appointed to his seat when Rep. Hugh McKean died. He is also the former chair of the Larimer County GOP. He was seeking the minority whip position in the Republican House caucus, but stepped back after complaints about his past behavior toward women when he was Larimer County Chair.

1396: Jovanté Teague

Abuse of Power or Authority

Jovanté Teague is the Vice-Chair of the Florida Republican Party. He was also the vice-mayor of Cross City, Florida. Before that, he was a prison guard when he was convicted convicted in a state felony investigation that disclosed he had a sexual relationship with a female inmate. Since he was in a position of power over her making it difficult for her to refuse, any sort of sexual relationship was an abuse of power.

1385: Jerry Cummings

Gerald “Jerry” Cummings was elected Chair of the Oregon Republican Party in March 2025. A pastor at Haven Church in St. Helens, Oregon, he has long been active in the Oregon Republican Party before his election as Chair. However, he resigned soon after his election when it was revealed he groomed a teenager until she was old enough to get married and kept her under his control by threatening to rape teenagers and through domestic violence and marital rape.
