
Johnathan Andrew Edwards was a sheriff’s deputy in Harnett County, North Carolina. He was placed on administrative leave on October 16, 2023, pending an investigation into allegations that he sexually abused several minors. He was fired on November 30th, for violating policy.
He was arrested and charged on December 5th, 2023. He was charged with ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. That is one count for each of the ten girls from ages seven to seventeen whom he allegedly raped. He was also charged with obstructing justice because he is believed to have destroyed digital evidence of his sexual abuse of minors.
