Reginald ‘Reggie’ Loper is an Effingham County Commissioner in Georgia. He remains on the Commission despite his May arrest for felony child molestation and misdemeanor sexual battery.
A teenage girl alleges he sexually abused her over five years beginning when she was twelve. He was arrested in May, 2023.
The Commission released a statement that said “The Effingham County Board of Commissioners is aware of the allegations against Mr. Loper. He has served the county and his constituents well for nearly two decades and we pray for him and his family as they deal with this situation.”
He seems to have played a “do you know who I am” with law enforcement which might be why local law enforcement sent the complaint to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
