Mike Groene was a Nebraska state senator. A legislative aide filed a complaint that he had taken inappropriate pictures of her while in their state office. The photos were taken secretly and without her permission. She found the photos on his computer and saw he had mailed them to other people with sexual captions. He resigned both from the senate and from his campaign for Nebraska University Board of Regents.
Jim Maloof was the Mayor of Peoria. The city settled a sexual harassment suit after his secretary accused him of unwanted kisses and hugs and of making inappropriately personal lewd comments. In 1993, 37 female city employees complained to the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that Maloof and other officials had engaged in sexual discrimination and harassment.
Fran Coombs was the managing editor of The Washington Times. He and his wife are known for their racist agenda and pushing racism in the Washington Times. Over a dozen people confirmed that Coombs has created an environment of sexual harassment and racism.
Col Allan is an Australian “journalist” who was the editor-in-chief of the race-baiting, rightwing Murdoch rag, The New York Post. As you could predict for a Murdoch paper, he pinned the Boston Marathon Bombing on the wrong people putting the pictures of two innocent people on the cover. He was sued for sexual harassment and retaliation. The paper settled.
Garabed “Chuck” Haytaian was the Speaker of the New Jersey Assembly. He was accused of sexual harassment by a Republican staffer who worked as his assistant. She said he frequently pawed, hugged, and kissed her. As part of her suit, she sought a transfer from working in his office. The state settled the suit which meant that Haytaian never had to admit guilty or face the consequences since the taxpayers paid the settlement and his legal fees.
John Diehl was Speaker of the House in the Missouri state legislature. He resigned in 2015 after it was revealed he had an intimate relationship with a 19-year-old college student serving as an intern at the state Capitol. He was 49 at the time and a sanctimonious advocate of the “sanctity of marriage” and opponent of gay marriage.
Ed Reinhardt was the mayor of Lockport, Louisiana. He resigned after his constant sexual harassment of a city employee was investigated by the town attorney. It got so bad she was asking other workers to stay in the office so she would not be alone with him.
William A. Jones was president of the conservative Baptist Georgetown College in Kentucky. In November, 2021, allegations of sexual assault and sexual misconduct against employees led to his firing. The College acted promptly, firing him immediately they learned he had violated school policies. In February, 2022, another woman came forward alleging sexual harassment and retaliation. Jones continues to deny all the allegations and filed suit in late 2022 against the college
Derrick van Orden is a Congressman representing Wisconsin’s Third District where he squeaked by in the most egregiously gerrymandered state where Republicans won 75% of the seats with 55% of the total vote. He was elected despite openly admitted he sexually harassed at least two women by exposing a man’s genitals to them. Well, bragged is more appropriate, he described the incidents in his book, “Book of Man: A Navy SEAL’s Guide to the Lost Art of Manhood.” Seriously, that title should be disqualifying.
When he ran for governor, Alexandra Datig, his ex-fiancée, broke the Non-Disclosure Agreement he had her sign to warn voters that he was abusive and threatened her with a gun. He denied the allegation, but she did file a police report and risked financial consequences to go public. Prosecutors did not pursue the allegations because the statute of limitations had run out.
