651: Derrick van Orden

Derrick van Orden is a Congressman representing Wisconsin’s Third District where he squeaked by in the most egregiously gerrymandered state where Republicans won 75% of the seats with 55% of the total vote. He was elected despite openly admitted he sexually harassed at least two women by exposing a man’s genitals to them. Well, bragged is more appropriate, he described the incidents in his book, “Book of Man: A Navy SEAL’s Guide to the Lost Art of Manhood.” Seriously, that title should be disqualifying.

UPDATE: In a new exhibition of abusive behavior, he verbally assaulted a group of high school students who were working as Senate pages. It was their last week on the job and they were taking pictures from the floor of the Rotunda, a Senate page tradition. Van Orden was giving a tour and began screaming at them, using obscenities and accusing them of defiling the Capitol. He was condemned by senators in both parties. He was rebuked by the Sen. Schumer and McConnell. He says he refuses to apologize.
