Mike Schyck was one of the survivors who testified. He was angry when he learned it was all theater. “Why f**k with victims in that way? That’s the most irresponsible thing I’ve ever heard.” He thought the bill was a real thing, not a ploy. “Why would you consider putting us through that?” he asked.”

Sexual Misconduct
Austin Cox was Utah Governor Spencer Cox’s (no relation) campaign manager in 2020. In 2021, a woman came forward alleging sexual misconduct on his part. Gov. Cox put him on leave and hired investigators who substantiated her claim. They also found other examples of his misconduct, described as hostil conduct, and he would have been fired, but resigned first. Cox denied the claim and suggested that it was made in spite after a consensual relationship ended.

Fabian Shepard was the Chair of the Johnson County, Kansas, Republicans. He also ran for an at-large seat on Shawnee Mission School District school board in 2017. He came in fourth with 13.75% of the vote in a five-way contest. In 2021, a fellow Republican party officer filed a battery complaint with the Bonner Springs police claiming he forcibly kissed her outside an anti-abortion fundraising event in Bonner Springs.

He admitted to one count of committing corporal injury on spouse or cohabitant, three counts of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury and one count of child endangerment.

Naasón Joaquín García was the leader of an international megachurch called La Luz del Mundo, The Light of the World. La Luz del Mundo began in Mexico before expanding through the Americas. They are in over fifty counties and in every one of the United States states. He was a huge admirer of Donald Trump, calling him a true convert to a life of faith. He pleaded guilty to three felonies in a plea agreement that netted him sixteen years in prison. That amounts to less than one month per child he raped.

Trent Brandon Holbert was the pastor of The Ridge church in Black Mountain, NC. He began molesting a child under the age of fifteen. He tried to extort her parents by reporting them for child abuse and offering to take their daughter. He gave the parents papers that would sign their daughter over to his care. However, the child protective services found the allegations unfounded. Rather, Holbert was sexually assaulting the child.
