NORTH CAROLINA- Assault of a Woman

Alan St. Onge was one of the MAGA insurrectionists at the January 6 riot. Onge has 13 criminal convictions, including convictions for damage to property, disorderly conduct, battery, domestic battery, assault, and various traffic offenses. He also has numerous arrests, including arrests for aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and domestic battery. In fact, St. Onge was on probation for a 2019 assault conviction on January 6, 2021.

St. Onge was then arrested on Nov. 23, 2023 by Asheville police after being accused of assaulting two people at a bar while on pretrial release. St. Onge allegedly threw an ashtray at a woman and then punched her in the throat at a bar. When another bar patron intervened, St. Onge allegedly pushed him to the ground, kicked him, and stomped on his chest. Id. St. Onge then fled the scene in his car and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the police report “Victim-1 reported that she observed the defendant harassing another woman at the bar. When the woman denied the defendant’s advances, the defendant walked up to Victim-1 and Victim-2 and asked Victim-1 to make a bet on ‘who would f–k her first.’ Victim-1 responded that the defendant needed to stop harassing the woman. The defendant then picked up an ashtray and threw it at Victim-1, striking her in the chest.

Victim-1 threw a cup of water at the defendant, who then punched Victim-1 in the throat, causing scratch marks, bleeding, and bruising to her throat. Victim-2 then intervened and told the defendant to leave Victim-1 alone. The defendant pushed Victim-2 to the ground and began to kick him and stomp on his chest.”

Witnesses say St. Onge fled in his vehicle and was pulled over by police and arrested for driving under the influence. He was also charged with two moving violations, failing to stop at a flashing light and driving left of center.

At the club, police were able to identify St. Onge because before leaving the bar he paid his tab with a credit card with his name and presented an ID, prosecutors said.

We tried to locate the court case files in Buncombe County related to this incident in North Carolina’s case search portal but was unsuccessful in gathering any results.

A hearing on the local charges was supposed to take place on Feb. 16, 2024 in Buncombe County District Court.
