Dave McCormick, US Senator from Pennsylvania, is the former CEO of Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund. Yes, he is a carpetbagger from Connecticut though he bought a house to run for Senate. As CEO, he used his power to retaliate against employees who reported sexual harassment and covered up allegations of sexual harassment and sexual battery.
There are multiple instances, settlements, and even a book that detail the many cases of sexual harassment that McCormick enabled. These were documented before McCormick entered politics.
One woman alleged she had been groped at a company event. There was no action taken. But the woman stayed with the company. Later when she moved on to found her own company, McCormick suggested she wasn’t being a supportive public presence, intimating that they would destroy her startup if she went public with what happened to her. He told another woman if she spoke about being sexually harassed, she would be “in litigation for life.” Another woman was pushed out for having an affair with her boss, who suffered no consequences.
