Larry Wilcoxson is a senior advisor to Florida State Rep. Byron Donalds. He was a candidate himself in a 2014 race for county clerk which he lost. He had a conviction for grand theft auto that was vacated in 2022 and which was an injustice. He was exonerated. There are several arrests for miscellaneous charges such as firearms, forgery and credit card fraud, etc. He took probation for the forgery/credit card issue and it was adjudicated, meaning that after he completed probation it does not count as a conviction.
His former fiancée filed a restraining order alleging violence. He denies it.
Another serious allegation was made in his home state of Indiana where he was alleged to have a student he taught at a middle school, either a sixth or seventh grader. The case was not pursued even though there were allegations from several people and despite his being fired for exposing himself to a custodian. Later a thirteen-year-old girl claimed he molested her and gave her a nude photo of himself. She showed it to several classmates. The case was dismissed because the judge excluded one of the essential witnesses.
He has also been accused of using intimidation frequently, particularly toward women and toward fellow Republicans. There are videos of him shouting at a Republican woman at the grocery store and of him charging at a group of people at a Republican party event.
He departs widely from GOP orthodoxy and from his own employer’s views by alleging most of his trouble can be explained by racist assumptions about Black men. To be fair, that could be true.
