1040: Vance Peronto

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Molestation

Vance Peronto was an Alaska State Trooper until he was arrested for an attempt to sexually abuse a child. It started April 8th, 2018 when he pulled over a sixteen-year-old girl for driving without her headlights on. She didn’t get a ticket, but Peronto tracked her down on social media and began grooming her.

1039: Jared Woodfill

Organizational Cover-Up

Jared Woodfill was the Harris County GOP Chair for ten years from 2002 to 2012. He remained politically active and is partially credited with defeating an LGBTQ equal rights ordinance in Houston. Since 2004, he has known that Paul Pressler sexually abused a child when helped settle negotiate a settlement that kept it silenced without any criminal repercussions. Nonetheless, in 2016, he wrote “This 85-year-old man has never made any inappropriate comments or actions toward me or any one I know of.”

1038: Leslie Shawn Brock

Child Sexual Abuse Material

Leslie Shawn Brock was appointed to the Lockland City Council in 2019. He served on the finance and safety and the health and welfare committees. In September 2022, he was arrested for possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. He was uploading CSAM and the Internet Crimes Against Children tipped off the Sheriff’s Office. After a search, he was charged with ten counts of child obscenity and two counts of pandering with child pornography.

The Enquirer article has more details on the CSAM but it is disturbing and overly specific, so be advised it may be triggering.

1037: Joshua Wine

Child Indecency, Child Molestation

Joshua Wine was a National Guard recruiter in Iowa. He has a long criminal history going back to 1999, though until he was charged with sexually abusing a child in March 2023, the charges were mostly for drinking, driving, and driving on a suspended license.

In March 2023, Wine was charged with abusing a child. He sexually abused a ten-year-old girl three times, at least, in 2022. You can follow the case here.

1035: William Morrissey

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Indecency, Child Molestation

William Morrissey was a school resource officer, a police officer in school, at Auburn High School, in Auburn, NY. In early 2022, he was arrested for sexual abuse and official misconduct. He was alleged to have groomed and sexually abused a 14-year-old girl who attended the school where he worked. He was also alleged to have asked the girl to lie.

1033: Gary Buckaloo

Child Indecency, Child Molestation, Child Rape

Gary Buckaloo was a teacher at Buffalo Independent School District and taught Life Sciences. He was also a youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Normangee, in Leon County, Texas.

In March, 2023, he was charged with one count of Indecency with a Child-Sexual Contact and one count of Sex Abuse of a Child Continuous. The victim was less than fourteen.

1032: Byron Wiscombe

Child Molestation, Child Rape, Nonconsensual Recording

Wiscombe is charged with lewd conduct with a minor and sexual battery of a child between 16 and 17 years of age, both punishable with up to life in prison, and video voyeurism, punishable with up to five years in prison. He was charged with misdemeanor sexual battery against both victims, with one of the charges forming a separate case.

1031: David Duffett

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Molestation, Child Rape

In February, 2023, he was arrested for felony sexual abuse of a minor by a person in authority. His father is the pastor of the church and is alleged to have protected him for years. The abuse is alleged to have happened fifteen years ago. The victim attended Bible Baptist Church. He began giving her gifts when she was fifteen. He began engaging in sex acts when she turned sixteen. Her family found out and put a stop to it. Duffett’s father is the pastor of the church and is alleged to have protected him.
