Exposing the Corruption of the "Family Values" Party
The Southern Baptist Convention covered up sexual abuse and protected abusers for years. In 2019, an investigation by the Houston Chronicle and the San Antonio Express revealed around 380 Southern Baptist pastors and church leaders had been accused of sexual abuse and misconduct involving hundreds of survivors. In most cases, the religious leaders continue in their vocation and the victims were blamed.
Edward Bullock was the Sheriff of Warren County, New Jersey from 1982 to 1991. He was caught in a sex sting, pled guilty to official misconduct, and served nine months in jail. He raped young boys while they were in county custody, including in transit to the jail, at the county detention center, and the shelter for children whose parents may have been negligent or absent.
A man created a Facebook page titled Schuylkill County Sheriff Candidate Doug Litwhiler likes young girls. He posted text messages sent to a woman when she was seventeen. He said he had been told by three different women that Litwhiler pursued them when they were underage. After posting, many other women came forward with their own screenshots.
Matt Wingard had two felony indictments for child abuse and pled guilty to criminal assault against a seven-year-old when he was accused by a former aide of giving her alcohol when she was underage (twenty) and pressuring her to have sex. He put her on his payroll and began an affair.
Ben Martin is an insurrectionist. He also was an anti-mask protester who harried and impeded people going into stores with a mask on. Sprouts Farmers Market in Fresno had to get a restraining order against him.
When federal agents went to arrest him for his participation in the insurrection, they found a safe in his home with several weapons. He is not allowed to have weapons as he was on probation for a 2018 conviction for domestic violence. In addition, he sister has a restraining order against him.
He said they were his father’s but a receipt showed he was the purchaser of at least one of them. Even though he is clearly violating his parole by having weapons, a judge still released him on bail. He also has a conviction for statutory rape.
Jorge Riley is an insurrectionist. He was a GOP activist before joining the coup, very active in support of the homophobic Ballot Measure 8. His activism began in college where he was active in student government. He lost an election for president of the student senate by one vote and claimed the election was stolen. So he came by his antipathy to democracy early.
Jesus Blancas was a member of the Grizzly Scouts, part of the Boogaloo movement. The Grizzly Scouts plotted to kill cops so Trump would invoke the Insurrection Act. He was indicted for trying to get a fifteen-year-old girl to produce child sexual exploitation material.
Andrew John Jones was a Seminole County Assistant State Attorney who ran for judicial office. A seventeen-year-old girl was volunteering on his campaign and he raped her. However, he was able to plea to having sex with a minor and tampering with evidence.
Mathew Palmer was the former Chief Operating Officer of the Maryland Department of Commerce. Before that, he was an aide to Republican Governor Larry Hogan. When Hogan appointed him, he said, “Mathew Palmer is an accomplished and well-rounded professional who possesses a deep understanding of the legislative process and issues. I am proud to welcome him to our administration and look forward to working with him during this upcoming session.” Palmer also was a prolific poster in child sex abuse message boards and had more than a thousand images and videos himself.
Andrew Chesney is an Illinois state senator, but he was a representative in the state House of Representatives when he likened sex education to pornography and perversion. Lack of age appropriate sex education leaves children vulnerable to abuse and predators.
