In 2021, Shenk was caught in catch-a-predator sting and charged with production or distribution of obscene matter, distribution and exhibition of harmful matter to a minor, contact or communicate with a minor with intent to commit specified offenses, arrangement of meeting with a minor for the purpose of engaging in lewd acts, attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age, attempted oral copulation, and attempted sodomy,
