August Kreis was a leader of the Aryan Nation. He was convicted in 2015 of sexually assaulting three underage girls and giving them obscene materials. The mother of one of the victims filed a report with the police who discovered he had sexually assaulted the victim for about three months. All three victims testified against Kreis, detailing the several assaults he committed against them.
Joshua Barnard is one of the Boogaloo Bois, an extreme anti-government group advocating for civil war without a clear ideology other than being pro-gun and pro-violence. Barnard was arrested for suspicion of breaking into a motor vehicle, looting, larceny, aggravated breach of peace, and instigating a riot. In June 2020, just weeks after that arrest, he was arrested again and charged with 11 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Mark Curtis Adams was a Sunday School teacher and church deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mount Carmel, South Carolina. He also used the social media app KIK to entice minor children and produce child sexual abuse material. He pretended to be a 17-year-old boy online and engaged in enticement of an 11-year-old girl. Her mother discovered his communications with her and went to police. He was arrested in June 2017. In May, 2018, he pled guilty to the enticement charge and was sentenced to ten years plus 15 years of supervised release.
Billy R. Oswald is a lawyer in Lexington, South Carolina, who was a Lexington County councilman who has run for office as a Republican several times was sued for sexual harassment by Sharon Ross, an employee. Allegations say he exposed himself to employees, pressured employees for sex and berated them for refusing.
Robert Anderson Strickland was a Sheriff in South Carolina. He was accused of punching a woman in the face with a closed fist more than once, taking away her cell phone so she could not call for help or for medical assistance. He’s also accused of damaging her car when she tried to flee.
John Gallman was a Republican primary candidate for South Carolina’s state senate. He was accused of domestic violence. He lost the primary. He sued his primary opponent and a local paper for defamation. The case has not been adjudicated yet.
Michael Allan Letts founded a charity that provides bullet-proof vests to police departments than cannot afford them. He also filed as a Republican state senate primary candidate in 2020 but was disqualified from the ballot.
R. A. Strickland or Andy Strickland was the Republican sheriff of Colleton County, South Carolina, was charged with domestic violence after punching a family member in the face several times. A year later, he was charged with more than a dozen offenses including official misconduct, using his position for financial gain and sex, use of public fund to influence an election, distribution of drugs, and embezzlement.
Josiah Magnuson attacked and harassed a fellow SC state representative Nancy Mace after she testified about her experience of being raped as a teenager. She had proposed a rape and incest exception to an anti-abortion bill and Magnuson sent out materials arguing that the misdeeds of the parents should not punish the fetus.
Edward Southard was a SC state representative. He was accused of sexual harassment by a female page. He claims it was all because he asked for help with making a Power Point presentation. But another woman accused him of making her uncomfortable and even following her in his pickup.
