Brian Mackenzie was an anti-tax conservative city councilor in Craig, Colorado. He was caught in an internet sting, trying to meet up with a supposed 14-year-old girl who was actually a law enforcement officer. He had a jury trial and was convicted on all three charges:
- Internet luring of a child with intent to exploit
- Internet sexual exploitation of a child
- Attempted sexual assault of a child
He was sentenced to ten years in the Colorado state sex offender program. That means he will be supervised while living in the community, register as a sex offender, and must participate in sex offender treatment.
