Shawn Bergstrand is the founder of the Right-Side-Up “Christian” fashion line, a corporate sponsor of Turning Point USA’s Pastors Summit where they attacked Target and other corporations that featured Pride-Positive clothing. It was part and parcel of the moral panic the right is pushing alleging gays are groomers.
However, Shawn Bergstrand is a registered sex offender. He was convicted in 2014 of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor. He was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison and five years of supervised release.
He emailed a woman who appeared to be trafficking her minor daughter for money. His initial arrest was for trafficking.
Just four months before his arrest, Bergstrand was named Agent of the Year by New York Life, a national insurance company. This is beside the point other than the of-the-year honor seems to come up a lot.
