Voyeurism/Peeping

Will Gardner was the Republican Party-endorsed candidate for North Dakota Secretary of State. He withdrew from the race after news surfaced of his arrest when he was 29 years old. He was cited for surreptitious intrusion – a sexual offense, but that was dropped to disorderly conduct in a plea deal.

1395: Nathan Rees

Organizational Cover-Up

Nathan Rees was a professor at University of North Dakota in the Art and Design Department from 2013 to 2015. He was also a friend of Ray Holmberg. He received emails from Holmberg describing how he was grooming and sexually abusing a UND student in Prague. He did nothing.

758: Ray Holmberg

Child Sexual Abuse Material, Sexual Assault

Ray Holmberg was a North Dakota senator for 44 years. In 2020, Caton Todd accused him of sexual assault. His allegation was ignored by the media. It got a little more attention when it was discovered that Holmberg exchanged 72 text messages with a man charged with distributing child sex abuse material (CSAM), possessing CSAM, and transporting two children from Minneapolis to Grand Forks, ND, in order to sexually abuse them.

626: Shane Anderson

Enabling, Organizational Cover-Up, Rape Culture

Shane Anderson was the treasurer of the North Dakota District 24 Republicans. He also was the chairman of the recall effort to punish Rep. Dwight Kiefert, a fellow Republican. This is after the local Republicans already voted to censure Kiefert.

What did Kiefert do that was so terrible as to merit censure and recall? He voted with two-thirds of the other North Dakota Republicans to expel sexual harasser Luke Simons. Shane Anderson, who has a local minister’s license at the United Pentecostal Church International, is leading the effort to punish Kiefert for voting to expel an abusive, harassing, sexual predator.
