Jeff Hoover was the Republican Speaker of the House in Kentucky. A staff member complained of sexual harassment and he settled with her. He defends himself saying it was consensual banter. The woman alleged groping, unwanted touching, and jealous behavior. She also made claims about other harassment and there was a settlement where she agreed not to go public. However, she told some co-workers and so they sued to try to get the money back since the details they paid to cover up got out to the press. The suit was dropped however.
Jeff Hoover claims the entire scandal was the best thing to happen to him because he has begun preaching and deepened his religious commitment.
