Tim Michels was the Republican nominee for US Senate in 2004 and for Governor in 2022. He lost both races. He also lost the 1998 Republican primary for a state senate seat. He and his brother co-own and run a construction company Michels Corporation.
Michels Corporation has been sued several times. Allegations include sexual assault and harassment, racial discrimination, and a hostile work environment. All the lawsuits were settled, with some of the employees signing NDAs. The details in the CBS story are bad.
A fact check points out that Michels was not personally sued, but then he personally ran the company that was sued. He said Evers had never run so much as a lemonade stand, making his business experience part of his qualifications, so he can’t disavow the mismanagement and abuses that happened in his company.
