Judge Robert Adrian found Drew Clinton guilty of rape in a bench trial in October 2021. There was DNA evidence, a confession, and the survivor’s testimony. It was an easy enough conviction. But when it came to sentencing in January 2022, Adrian reversed himself, throwing out the conviction, because the 148 days Clinton had spent in jail already was enough, in his opinion, and he didn’t deserve to go to prison for rape. In fact, he said “rape is natural” when kids are allowed to party with alcohol and boys and girls together. Clinton was 18, the girl he raped was 16. Judge Robert Adrian is fine with this because after all, rape is natural.
