Gerald Fairbanks was an Ada County Deputy for twenty years until he retired in 2011. Boise is in Ada County. In December 2022, he was arrested and charged with several counts of child sex abuse. The allegations involve two different children, both of whom were under twelve during the time they were allegedly abused.
The specific charges against Fairbanks are eight counts of lewd conduct with a child under 16 and two counts of sexual abuse of a child under 16. Four of the lewd conduct charges allegedly happened in 2008. The other six charges are for events in 2014.
