Anthony Iglesias was youth pastor in two Idaho churches in the Calvary Chapel network. He was convicted of sexually abusing two boys. The churches were sued by four of his victims because they should have known and protected them.
There were red flags that should have warned them. He had been ordered to stay away from children by a California Calvary Chapel after a conviction for improper conduct. He was also recalled from a mission in Thailand.
One boy was molested at North Country Church and when the parents went to the pastor, Rev. Robert Davis, he admitted they knew, that his pedophilia was why they pulled him out of Thailand.
In April 2004, Iglesias was convicted of three counts of lewd conduct with twin 14-year-old brothers. He was sentenced to eight years on each of two counts and three years on one count.
In 2008, Kyle and Kory Larabee filed suit against Iglesias and Calvary Chapel over their abuse. That case also is pending in Kootenai County District Court.
Iglesias was sentenced to 14 years in prison. He was eligible for probation review after just six months, but lost that opportunity because he had sex in prison, making him not eligible for six years.
