Donald “Buz” Lukens was a Republican Representative to the U.S. House from Ohio. In fact, John Boehner replaced him in the Republican primary in 1990 when he refused to resign after a scandal. He had also served in the Ohio Senate.
Although he was alleged to have had sex with a girl from when she was 13 until he was caught when she was 16, he was only indicted for having sex with her when she was sixteen. Since 16 was the age of consent, he was only prosecuted for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Shamelessly, he and his attorney claimed reverse discrimination because his victim was a Black teenager.
And after his conviction more allegations came out, including one from the Capitol elevator operator of groping her while in the elevator.
He was sentenced to 180 days in jail, suspending all but 30. He was fined $1000, but half was suspended. Later he was convicted of accepting a bribe (unrelated to this) and sentenced to 30 months.
