1155: Jeremy Chesser

Jeremy Dean Chesser

Jeremy Chesser was a Springfield, Ohio, firefighter. In August, 2023, he was arrested and charged with producing and distributing child sexual abuse material.

He chatted with an FBI investigator on Kik, a messaging app popular with child predators, starting on August 7, 2023. He called himself Jay from Michigan and bragged about engaging in child sexual abuse with children as young as two. He provided graphic descriptions of his sexual abuse of children, uploaded Child Sexual Abuse Material of several teen girls, and solicited images from several others. He also inquired the FBI source about access to minor children.

Subpoenas to Kik and AT&T identified Chesser. The FBI got a search warrant and arrested him less than month after the first contact. He admitted having about 1,000 images, having sexually abused children, and having viewed Child Sexual Abuse Material for more than ten years.

Chesser was also a foster father. One woman alleged he sexually abused her twenty years ago at a church youth group event. When she reported it, she was not believed. Another woman said she reported him to Lucas County Children Services out of concern for how she saw him behaving with a little girl in his care.
