Donald Lee Flanery was pastor of Family of Christ Church in Maynard. He sexually abused a child for two years starting when she was eleven. The news stories are horrific. He told the girl that what he was doing was Biblical. During the trial, Flanery’s daughter testified that he sexually abused her twice when she was fourteen.
Flanery appealed claiming his daughter should not have been allowed to testify and that they should not have charged him with ten counts of rape. I suppose they could have charged him with 35.
He was sentenced to 35 years in prison
His son Jamie Flanery was indicted for raping a child this year.
