Jamie Flanery, an Arkansas youth pastor, is accused of sexually assaulting a fifteen-year-old girl in 2012. The first time was when she at his house with her fellow students. The second, and more serious, happened when she was driving and he texted her to pull over. He got in her car and sexually assaulted her, she claims. He was charged with First Degree Sexual Assault.
She told Flanery’s wife and a pastor. The pastor said Flanery said it happened but that she wanted it. Fifteen!
Now that the girl is an adult and a parent she has come forward detailing what happened to her and why she didn’t report at the time. The first person she told said, “I don’t believe you.” It shut her down. Now she has a daughter and wants to be a role model, and that meant speaking up.
His father, Donald Lee Flanery, was convicted of raping a child.
