Sexual Assault

Samuel Pimm is a Republican Party consultant. According to his Linked-In profile, he specializes in primaries targeting RINOs (mainstream Republicans.) On a flight to London, he was seated next to a woman whom he groped while he thought she was sleeping. She was trying to sleep using a sleep mask and felt him touching her arm and bread, then stroking her thigh. She pretended to wake up and got out of her seat. She asked the crew if she could change seats, explaining the situation. He was arrested upon arrival. He was also charged with obstruction because he washed his hands when the police arrested him, dipping his hand into his waterglass thirteen times. He was found guilty.

345: C. John McCloskey

C. John McCloskey is a Catholic priest of Opus Dei, the controversial Catholic organization, who was a sort of celebrity converter. He was known for converting several prominent conservative politicians to Catholicism including Newt Gingrich, Sam Brownback, Bob Novak, Larry Kudlow, and Bernard Nathanson, a co-founder of NARAL who became an anti-choice activist. In 2005, Opus Dei paid a $977,000 settlement to a woman who claimed he groped her several times in 2002 when she sought help for marital issues and depression.

Seth Carey is a Maine Republican. He ran for DA for Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties after a judge found that he had made unwanted sexual advances three times to a woman living in his home. He had lost his license so would be not allowed to actually practice the job he was running for. Despite these facts, he won the Republican primary though he lost in the 2018 General Election though he won 42% of the vote even though he was facing criminal charges and not allowed to practice law.

However, Wesley Goodman is a sexual predator and many people knew it and covered it up before he was even elected to office.

The Council on National Policy, a 501(c)3, was hosting a fundraiser for Wes Goodman, often described as a rising star. That seems illegal, but it not the focus here. During that event Goodman invited an 18-year-old who came with his parents up to his room after attending another party with Goodman and a group of young men, some of whom were bullied into coming by Goodman. At the end of the night, Goodman invited the young man to his room. He woke up in the middle of the night when Goodman unzipped his pants and began fondling him without his consent. Scared, he ran to his parents and told them what happened.

Scott Beierle was a member of FSU Republicans and the Facebook group We Are Conservatives. He also was an open misogynist and racist who posted hate-filled videos on YouTube ranting against women and interracial marriage. He admired Elliot Rodger, the man who killed six and wounded fourteen in California. He was forty years old and ranting about girls who slighted him in eighth grade to the present.

He was fired as a substitute teacher for inappropriately touching a middle school girl. There were regullar complaints about him being creepy.

Before he entered a Florida yoga studio and killed two people and wounded four, he was arrested for groping women and prosecutors dropped the charges.

Eric Schleien was a New Hampshire state representative for two terms. His role model was Rand Paul. He is currently a podcaster, investor, and media personality His website says he is a tribal leader, but that’s a corporate training certification and has nothing to do with any indigenous tribe. He does not mention that he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child.

Dennis Hof was the Republican candidate for the Nevada Assembly. He was a legal brothel owner. He thought of himself as a Trump-like figure, flamboyant and fond of publicity. He starred in an HBO series called Cathouse and published a copycat book, “The Art of the Pimp.” He had been accused of sexual assault four times, the most recent a month before his death in October 2018. He was also accused in 2005, 2009, and 2011. Prosecutors declined to file charges, citing the statute of limitations, a continuing problem with holding abusers accountable.
