Eric Schleien was a New Hampshire state representative for two terms. His role model was Rand Paul. He is currently a podcaster, investor, and media personality His website says he is a tribal leader, but that’s a corporate training certification and has nothing to do with any indigenous tribe. He does not mention that he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child.
A high school student went to a summer school political science program at Philips Exeter in 2016. She met Schliein at a coffeeshop and he offered to show her around Portsmouth. She thought it would be an elected representative giving her some inside insight into state politics. He thought it was a place for him to tell her his sexual fantasies, suck her fingers, and grope and kiss her without her consent. She got out of his car early and walked back to the college and then called the police. There’s more detail in the Newsweek magazine.
He pleaded guilty to assaulting her with two assault charges unprosecuted. The plea deal gave him a one year maximum sentence, half suspended. After thirty days in the House of Corrections, he would be eligible for house arrest.
