986: Christopher Schroder

Christopher Schroder was a Cincinnati police officer. In January 2023, he pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor counts of dereliction of duty. During more than a decade serving on the Personal Crimes Unit, he failed to turn in rape kits and DNA swabs, performed inadequate investigations of crimes with vulnerable victims such a minors and people with developmental disabilities, and sometimes performed no investigation whatsoever. There were 47 cases of dereliction and a 48th by the time the case came to court.

A Republican, he was defeated in his run for a third term in October 2022 perhaps because he was caught in a life during a candidate forum. He was asked if he had been investigated by Maine’s attorney general’s office and he said no, but he was investigated in 2017 and 2018.

He is mostly defined by what he is against rather than what he is for. He is against Black mermaids, drag queens, and people who are trans. He hatemongers with claims of grooming and pedophilia. Meanwhile, he thinks sixteen-year-olds should get pregnant, that adolescence is nonsense, and child marriage is peachy.

An interview he did in 2018 did not help his campaigns. In it he made several jokes about women including laughing about women being killed during sex, saying he’s thought about it himself. He made a tasteless joke mocking the death of a woman, not a hypothetical, but an actual woman. He also likes to like pictures of underage girls on Instagram.

Doug Wilson is the leader of a reactionary religious movement and the pastor of Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho. He preaches that men dominate and women submit. Rape and child molestation is not reported to authorities. Women who are abused by their husbands are put into “church discipline” and Wilson argues men cannot rape their wives because he can’t trespass in his own garden.
