Child Molestation

David Wayne Pendley was a teacher at Faith Lutheran, a religious private school in Las Vegas, Nevada. A senior at the school went to the police and reported he sexually assaulted her several times. He invited her on a mission trip to Mexico where he became inappropriately personal. He told her he loved her.

Back in school, he asked her to dog sit while he and his wife went out of town. When she went to his house, he was alone and he raped her. His abuse continued for six months and he reacted with anger when she said she did not like it. He told her that his heart was connected to his penis, that god made him that way, that no one would believe, etc.

While the school was considering termination, he was named Creek View Elementary’s Teacher of the Year. First Baptist Church in Pelham even hosted a fundraiser for him. Meanwhile, the fourth-grader was ostracized while the community rallied for Acker. Acker was so unrepentant as to put the question, “What color are Kristin’s panties?” on a test.

810: Joshua Clemons

Child Molestation

Joshua Clemons was the youth pastor at Crossroads Community Church in Parker, Colorado, before going to work for Restoration Community Church in Denver. Church leaders in Parker learned in 2016 that Clemons had a sexual relationship with one of the teen congregants, but she was eighteen, so it was technically legal but highly unethical. So they said nothing. However, they recently learned the relationship began when she was underage and there may be more victims.
