1259: Dale Kenyon

Child Endangerment, Child Indecency

Dale Kenyon was the mayor of Clayton, New York. He was indicted for “engaging in sex acts” with a 14-year-old girl over the course of three years beginning in 2009. He was indicted in September 2017 on 22 counts of third-degree Criminal Sexual Act for the alleged abuse.

1257: Jamol Jones

Child Indecency, Child Molestation

After he became Chair, it was revealed that he was fired from the Benton Police Department for ethics violation related to him having a “sexual relationship with a minor.” The investigator determined that Jones liked when he said he did not know she was underage. The investigator mentioned Jones telling the girl not to tell anyone as he would get in trouble. He was twenty-five. The girl’s mother did not want him prosecuted but thought he should not be a police officer.

1250: Shawn Gooden

Shawn Gooden was a bishop with the Mormon church and a member of the executive board of the New Birth of Freedom Boy Scouts. He was a lawyer in Harrisburg, PA. He was also an adjunct professor at Widener University Commonwealth Law School. That was all before he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a young relative in Virginia and was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.

1232: Thomas Wall

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Indecency, Child Molestation, Child Rape, Incest

Thomas Wall was pastor of the conservative Pentecostal Fellowship Church in Lancaster, Kentucky. He also administered the Christian academy run by the church. He was originally arrested in January 2022, accused of sexually abusing a family member over forty years ago when the relative was under the age of twelve.

1228: Ben Wharton

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Indecency, Child Rape

Albert Benjamin Wharton was a pastor at several churches in Virginia, South Carolina, Alabama and Florida. In December 2023, he was arrested in South Carolina and extradited to Virginia where he was charged with twenty-two counts of indecent liberties with a child under age thirteen while in a custodial position and eight counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

1208: Daniel Abraham

Child Indecency, Child Molestation, Sexual Battery

Abraham was charged with taking indecent liberties with a child and sexual battery. He was initially held without bail, but later bail was set at $5,000 and he was released with the stipulation that he was not to have any contact with the victim and that he was not to be around children except at church services.

1192: Robert Austin

Child Indecency, Solicitation of a Minor

Robert William Austin, a Florida Department of Corrections chaplain, was caught in an undercover sting. Police created several false identities on social media. Austin sent messages to one of those false identities thinking he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl. He sent her explicit pictures. The day “he was arrested he happened to tell the “girl” that he was going fishing. The police worked with Fish and Wildlife, found him where he was out fishing, and arrested him there.

1188: Tammy Tyner

Abuse of Power or Authority, Child Indecency, Child Molestation, Child Rape, Sexual Battery

In a plea agreement, she submitted an Alford plea for two counts of sexual battery. Instead of serving the 120 days, the sentences were suspended. She will serve two years probation and register as a sex offender. Probation for raping exchange students living in her home. The other charges were dismissed.

1186: Michael Tobin

Child Endangerment, Child Indecency, Child Sexual Abuse Material, Coercion, Improper Conduct or Comments, Sexual Assault

Michael Tobin was a police officer in Clarksville, Iowa. He was accused of showing sexually explicit images and videos from a criminal case to a minor from September 2021 to February 2022. The minor reported it to police in March 2022. The city fired him and in September 2022 he was arrested and charged with 3 felonies and 8 misdemeanors. In October 2023, he was convicted on all charges.
